The French response to Somali piracy is now so well known that "in Puntland they talk about avoiding 'the French option'," says John S. Burnett, author of the prescient 2002 study of modern piracy, "Dangerous Waters." "They know French commandos will come after them," says Burnett, "and some of these French guys are really tough mothers." The French have a longer history of dealing with Somali pirates. The U.S. has no history. In its first confrontation, Obama sent snipers to shoot them dead. Done. What're you complaining about?
Oh, and according to Rush Limbaugh, the American military are murderers, who killed "innocent teenagers," not Somali pirates. And he makes a point of saying that they are "Muslim teenagers." No attempt to hate-bait there. No, not at all.

Barbary pirates in the Mediterranean 200+ years ago are not equal to Somali pirates in the Arab Sea . . . although the results have been similar. I doubt the Somalis today learned anything from 200+ year old pirates. Nice try?
