Not the point. The United States does not torture. Period. And the legal justifications the Bush administration's lawyers used to rationalize it is disgusting...and yes, quite possibly illegal.

No they aren't.

Spanish AG: No torture probe of US officials (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/eu_spain_us_torture;_ylt=AootaQjCmya9r6BViZiMWG2s0 NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTI5ZzFpMGxlBGFzc2V0A2FwLzIwMDkwNDE2L 3RvcnR1cmVfbWVtb3MEY3BvcwMyBHBvcwM5BHNlYwN5bl90b3B fc3RvcnkEc2xrA3JlbGF0ZWQ - broken link)-

And who cares? It's not enforceable. It's quite laughable and meaningless. Nothing but a paper indictment.

You can bet your arse you wouldn't mind if the information received through torture saved you and/or your family from harm. Perhaps it already has.

When your city produces politicians that vote on national issues, I will indeed worry about your city.

They already did... they were led on wild goose chases... it turns out that you will say anything when you are being tortured... also, no ticking time bomb scenarios... just torture being used as regular interrogation. Pretty incredible that a supposed Christian would authorize this (Bush, that is).

Releasing the memos puts the US in a bad light... but not the actual torture that the memos authorized?
