I have what the anti's and media call 'assault weapons' but I don't live in fear. I think of my guns as insurance. I don't want to use it but if I need to, I'm glad I have it.

I also don't agree with the term. A true assault weapon is has the capability to go full auto. Yes, we have some of those running around but the hoops you have to jump through and the price make owning one extremely difficult. My AR-15 shoots the exact same ammo as my niece's youth model .223 rifle. Yes, it is scary looking. But the modular, military look also make it one of the most versitile weapons on the market. If you want to plink, put a .22LR upper on it. If you want to use it as a home defense weapon, put your .223, 16" barreled upper on it. If you want to try some long range shooting, put a 6.5 Grendel chambered upper with a 24" barrel on it. All on the same gun and it takes less than a minute to swap these parts out.

Just remember, the President doesn't make laws. Congress does. Nobody should be letting their guard down because of this.

I love it. As soon as the hopolophobes start getting their clock cleaned by truth and logic, the name calling starts.

Do you even know what the government classifies as an "assault weapon"? Do you know how and when the term "assault weapon" was coined?

Let's talk about the "real issue" - explain to us why the 2nd Amendment (the real issue) exists.

Exactly. He can cover his a** and when Congress enacts the ban (or tries to) he can say "It wasn't me!" This might calm down for a bit but as lionking said, keep our eyes open. It ain't going away.

Hey, we agree on something!

Funny isn't it,one persons reports from the Mexico trip "he is looking to reistate the ban" yet other reports state he will not push for it now.

Anyhow last time out at the range I wasn't happy with my accuracy acheived so this weekend I'll be back out with my "evil?" rifles to try and do better on the targets. My "evil" black AR-15 and my M1A will be firing firing firing and nobody gets hurt.Cheers

Lucky you....I have several rifles I haven't even been able to shoot yet.

Urban sprawl around here has eaten up all the open land.

I own several guns and am going to buy a model 92 beretta here in a few days. It is an awesome handgun! I carried one in Iraq.

The Brady bill is total bs and does nothing to protect Americans. It takes one well aimed round to kill someone -- unless you are a cop, then 40 or so.

Limiting magazine capability is silly. The only point of doing that would be the dampen the firepower of a militia.

Obama is doing ok for a socialist tool. I don't understand the hate for him. I think he is doing the best job he knows how and people should watch him closely but cut him some slack. He is after all, our elected commander.

If so many blind tards hadn't pushed for McCain for nomination, we wouldn't be in this situation.

All this gun talk makes you sound like a right wing extremist.....

Thanks for your service in Iraq.
