She's not a "hero". She didn't do anything heroic.

I never watch these things but I saw the news clips.

I also saw Perez behaving like an a$$ on a YouTube clip.

Even though I disagree with Ms. California's opinion, I would have given her a pass with her response. However, this morning she lost any sympathy by defiantly saying "never compromise on anything." Ugh!!

We've had enough of that kind of attitude during the past 8 years. Now, I'm glad she lost. She would have been a bad representative for the nation.

From her appearance this morning, it seems that she's angling for a future job on Faux News.

Maybe if the government outlawed opposite sex marriage, you'd be the "flaming ass" out there fighting for your rights.

And if being pro gay is now a requirement to participate in beauty pageants, then they need to state that up front.

Agreed, so much for "liberal tolerance".

I respect her for answering the question honestly. She gave her opinion, and didn't try to sidestep the issue as others might have. But she's not a hero. She didn't use the pageant as a platform to broadcast her position. She didn't know what question she would be asked. I applaud her integrity in revealing what she truly thought about a difficult issue, right or wrong. As Miss California, she is a role model for millions of young girls, and she demonstrated honesty and integrity in that position. That doesn't make her a hero.

This is a classic example how smug arrogant lowlifes continue to undermine their causes, meaning of course this idiot Hilton. We may complain how the MSM caters to such jerks, but actually they are doing us a great favor by showing us their true colors. The tables will turn against them as even people who took no real interest or sides in such issues are really getting sick and tired of their agendas and how they present them. Kudos to Miss California for acknowledging the rights and privileges for all to choose, but especially for voicing her own belief and personal choice to lead the life she chooses. I post this from Vermont, the state that Hilton glowingly mentioned. I can tell you that despite the reputation that Vermont garners nationally, this guy would get a pretty nasty reaction even here for his statements.

She sparked furor? Give me a break. If anything this Hilton guy is the one who made it an issue with his moronic statement. Way to go Perez, you'll really garner some warm and fuzzy accolades for your cause. Keep it up, and also thanks to the MSM for actually covering this.
