Think how many jobs we coulod create for Californians by paying them minimum wage and supplying boats to haul them out there and chip away at that unspeakable mess. They can clip pieces off and ship them to that guy in Ohio who's learned how to boil plastic (and anything else organic) down into fuel oil.

Taking your idea further, this might be a worthy endeavor for a multi-national exercise funded by the World Bank.
Thanks for posting this. I'm a big fan of protecting the environment and personally think information like this is more effective than the global warming debate. There is no debate that the planet is dirty and we're destroying it.
