If people were given an option back when to choose between a defined pension or 401K, most likely only those knowledgeable in stocks/bonds would have chosen 401K.

So, years later when almost all defined pensions are gone and we are left with 401K, the government thinks they need to take them over and make decisons for us ?

Just like they saw this bank fiasco coming ? They are just looking for another pot of money to grab..what's left of our retirement.

Bingo. Just as defined benefit plans go extinct, the government wants to takeover defined contribution plans to limit your choices and "protect you from yourself".

Oh yea, that's right. The one better equipped to mortgage the future our children, for a short term gain.
How is this fascist even a member of congress any more? I can just see Nancy "Wack-a-mole" Pelosi hoping up to applaud these comments by Frank.

This is the same Bonney Fwank, who said it was not the democrats, but mean old republicans who were forcing banks into giving risky home mortgages to the poor.
Obama, his administration, and most of all Barney Fwamk (lol) are idiots. He is about half way through this video, but seriously, he is an idiot. This video should be played over and over and over. If McCain had been smart he would have played this video more in his campaign.
