I know because I was reading a lot of these blogs and websites.

I'm an independant btw
.. and the funny part of it all was that Bush never let anybody really get under his skin like "you-know-who" does.

That's the striking difference that I see between the two right out of the gate.

It's easy to pick on someone who gets all bent over nothing .. just sayin' ..

I too, am an independent .. btw

That just your opinion. No fact behind it. And Clinton never received the majority of the vote. Neither did Jimmy Carter. Nor is popular vote the way we decide who becomes president. It is irrelevant.

However, I didn't recall, in the first 100 days of W's 1st term, all the rabid hate (example: threads being started on Obama not wearing a shirt or Obama should be impeached, without pointing out an actual high crime) that the right has shown for Obama.
The left was shouting about how Bush was going to destroy Social Security and Medicare from day one. And he was going to outlaw abortion. And they opposed No Child Left Behind before it was written. They also went after him for a DUI in the 1970s and kept asking about cocaine use, with no proof. They questioned everything about his academic records and his military records. They questioned his "gravitas" continually. They attacked Laura Bush for a car accident years ago. It goes on and on and on.

They Even Clinton did not go through something like this in 1993. From what little I recall, Reagan was treated with at least a little respect, as was Bush Sr., in their first 100 days by the left/democrats.
No one liked Clinton his first 100 days. The first thing he did was don't ask, don't tell and HillaryCare. Both complete political disasters. He wouldn't hold a press conference. The press hated him, the right hated him, the left hated him. He was on his way to a one-term forgotten presidency until OKC happened. He supposedly handled that well. And he started moving toward the center. That's when people statred liking him. No one could stand Clinton his first 2 years in office.

My point being is that maybe the left hated Bush as time went on, but not with this craziness on the right. I think the left hate for Bush didn't really even start to be obvious, until he went into (on lies and disception) Iraq in 3/03.
Wrong again. Most of the people on the left (the ones in power anyway) were all for going into Iraq. It wasn't until about 04 or 05 they started getting really mad about it. They never were mad about the war itself. They were only mad because they realized it was companies that contributed to republicans that were getting all the contracts. Once dems got in power again and were able to pick and choose what private comapnies got war related contracts they suddenly stopped with the anti-war stuff. Coincidence? Doubtful. Democrats have never had a problem with lying us into war. Look at WW2, Bosnia, Kosovo and Vietnam. To name a few.

I just think that they saw the unpopularity that Bush got (and merited) and how he put the GOP in the toilet and now are trying everything they can to, in their minds "return the favor".
I have another theory was to why this is going on, all this sudden literal hate for Obama (not overall, he still has a solid approval rating), however that would open up a can of worms.
I will say however, a lot of "code" (like socialist) being thrown at Obama, is not a hell of a lot different than what was thrown at Dr. King 41-45 years ago.
The same "code" words were thrown at Clinton and Carter. And most every other Democrat that runs for office. Including Kerry, Gore and Edwards. They are white, in case you didn't notice. People don't like Obama because of his policies. It has nothing to do with race. You should really look at the "code" words thrown at Clarence Thomas. It's obvious the left is nothing more than a bunch of racists. And if I remember correctly the overwhelming of republicans wanted Colin Powell to run for president in 2000. Not George Bush. Guess that kinda shoots a hole in the theory that republicans are opposed to Obama because he is black.

And Bush put the GOP in the toilet? LOLs. What happened in November? Looks like Obama has put the democrats in the toilet.

For someone that has been here and there I would think you could up with a more intelligent argument.

Class dismissed.
