Bush and Obama are two of a kind, although certainly Obama has a far easier time of it with most of the media protecting him. Hate is hate and what goes around comes around. Clinton, Bush and Obama all have their people that do nothing but spew hatred and get it in return. Obama does nothing to stop this cycle of hatred and promotes it so bad on him. Maybe our next president will break the pattern. We can hope.

Even Clinton did not go through something like this in 1993. From what little I recall, Reagan was treated with at least a little respect, as was Bush Sr., in their first 100 days by the left/democrats.
My point being is that maybe the left hated Bush as time went on, but not with this craziness on the right. I think the left hate for Bush didn't really even start to be obvious, until he went into (on lies and disception) Iraq in 3/03.
I just think that they saw the unpopularity that Bush got (and merited) and how he put the GOP in the toilet and now are trying everything they can to, in their minds "return the favor".
I have another theory was to why this is going on, all this sudden literal hate for Obama (not overall, he still has a solid approval rating), however that would open up a can of worms.
I will say however, a lot of "code" (like socialist) being thrown at Obama, is not a hell of a lot different than what was thrown at Dr. King 41-45 years ago.

Yes, I am sure much of the Obama "hate" is from simple party lines, stark political opposition, and even racism. However I take issue with assertions like this because it obscures objective and reasonable criticism of Obama, to which many fervent supporters will then categorize all criticism as hate.

I objected and criticized Bush on nearly everything from 9-12-01 on, but aside from my pop shots at his mannerisms, I was critical of his policies and actions in which we had many years to digest. Obama has been in office for 100 days so it is hard to tell exactly what the results of many of his actions will be. Even still there are some trends and directions he is moving that I am opposed to, such as an escalation of the war in Afghanistan for starters. That doesn't make me hate Obama, it means I disagree with him.

So it is all just revenge, of course not but certainly some of it is. Being able to look at the content of what is being said, who said it and the manner in which they said will be the first indication if it is critical assessment of blind hatred.

Well, I've even posted stuff how I'm disappointed in Obama with his stance (even though it looks like he is going to back off it) with the Mexican Truckers, going slow on the Employee Free Choice Act and private militraries. I don't think that is hated of Obama by any stretch.
However threads like "President Panty Waist", "Obama meets with man who dies next day of Swine Flu", "Michelle Obama's puts her arm around the Queen (and then calling her black trash in the thread)", "Obama can't talk without a teleprompter"........these are blind hate threads, that cannot even wait 100 days since 1/20/09 and show that they don't want to give this man a chance at all.

I say get over it and if the shoe fits wear it! This is a new year disappointment is high. We have been headed for communism for the last twenty three years, It has just become apparent to some.
When america has more state county and federal workers than blue white and all others combined you better believe we have a problem. No Obama did not start it but only following in the footsteps of his predicessors and doing a fine job of it. He's has made it apparent he will do what he wants and in his possition, he can. There used to be a difference between dems and reps, not anymore. oops here we go again, 2012 WOW I would say we need a good house cleaning and some people that know how to balance a check book besides ours. Vote out attorneys and Polititians and get in a red blooded american that believes in the freedoms this country was founded on. We have been a relaxed people for a while now. We have been allowing our politicians to run away with our country. The so called hate is not about Obama it's about Americans being fed up and their lives being dictated! Some people want their rights and freedoms. Was that on his agenda or are we again making more state and federal jobs. That would more than likely, not affect you in a way you want. I would love to tell my employers they are going to give me a raise, my buddies and I decided. I personally feel we have been paying way to much for what we've been getting.

I think no matter what, you're always going to have two sides - the pros and cons. It's not always about revenge.

Default Who thinks that all this Obama hate is just revenge for all the Bush hate?

Bush was hated for two reasons:

1. Iraq
2. Great Recession

Obama is hated for two reasons:

1. Funny foreign name
2. Looks "different" than some folks' idea of what a president should look like.

So, no...

The Obama hate has nothing to do with the Dubya hate. Those who hated Bush did so because of actions he took that were detrimental to millions of Americans. Those who hate Obama do so because it's in their guts. It's part of who/what they are.

Bush had a definite love-hate relationship with the American people.
In post-9/11 2001, he had record high approval ratings of 90%. By January, 2009 he was setting another record in the low 20s.

Bush's Final Approval Rating: 22 Percent - CBS News

Of course it's revenge. All I hear is "well, you guys ripped into Bush, so....etc." They admit it. They're like children, these people.
