The point being that stealing horses is a crime, has always been a crime, and your local county prosecutor would laugh in your face if you told him that you "just wanted to move forward" rather than being prosecuted for being caught stealing horses.

The law should apply to everyone.

More evidence that waterboarding is indeed torture.

Now it's 4 JAGs, Hitchens changing his mind after doing it (something armchair Rambos on CD don't have the b***s to try), and this. Most rational people would've thrown in the towel and just admit they're wrong.

Sleep deprevation and humiliation are not torture for non US citizens.

There's no point in dragging "rational people" into a discussion with the defenders of waterboarding. I remember thinking when I read that story that it pretty much says it all. How long did it take him to change his mind? Less than 3 minutes? Less than 2? The sad thing is the criminals used torture to make people they had collected around the world agree to fictitiuos statements about terrorism in order to justify their own crimes against the American people. The "debate" about whether waterboarding is torture is like the "debate" about whether global warming is real. It is one in the same with the "debate" the founders of the Third Reich claimed was raging in the scientific community about whether Jews and Negroes were human beings, or a subspecies. The whole purpose of such "debates" is to get you to back into an "admission" that the premise was ever in doubt in the first place.

Right now the GOP is becoming known as the party defending torture. Oh how far they've fallen.

It's also apart of American soldier training in understanding the possibilities of what they may go through over seas for certain endangered personnel. They couldn't really show them what having their heads cut off is like so they go as far as "legally" possible. Thankfully after the "torture" they go back to three meals and a comfy sleeping quarters afterwards.
