So funny... I used to bristle at the question as well... surely they would not ask if I lived in a more modest home... but I think I've just been blessed to live in a couple of really nice homes so I don't take offense anymore.
Um...we can speculate all day long, but the only person that knows for sure is that lady.
Funny thing I've noticed: a minority gets verbally abused by someone, they automatically assume race is the main catalyst first. A white gets yelled at, they assume the other person is just a douche.
I'm not saying it is right or wrong, only natural response.
Wow...what an interesting observation. I guess you can say blacks react to certain situation; whites dismiss certain situations.
I've gotten asked that question. I guess if you wear your race on your shoulder that thought may come to your mind.In the end its just a prejudice and we all have those.
