The sour grape thing is so old now that we have to call it sour raisins.
And we'll be glad to have him so that the GOP can stop filibustering the appointment of needed public officials (like the Secretary of Health) for no other earthly reason than to just say no.
Well one thing for sure is that the Dems will not have that 60 vote majority for long. Republicans will no doubt pick up senate seats in 2010.
I see...if a political approach gets your butt whipped to hell and back at the polls, do it more and you'll get a different result? I think that little theory deserves a test-- in 2010!

Good point. The midwest is turning more or less purple though. The only place the GOP is now solid, is in the South (except for NC and FL). However, they are so stubborn in lots of ways, that I think that they will cater to those people and their narrow minded followers, which are, rich, fundlementalists or racists (red, not rednecks neccessarily).
That being said though, it's good news, but I won't be anti Specter, if he does not vote with the Dems 100% of the time, however, even most of the time is cool.
This better serve as a serious wake up call for the GOP, to come back towards the center.

I think so too. Those people who turned out in droves to vote for Obama most likely won't turn out in 2010. Congressional democrats were riding Obama's coat tail last year.
Really? Were all those Dems riding Obama's coat tails back in the 2006 midterms, too?
I have no problem with him switching - he was dem-lite anyway.
He's still a coward with no real fundamental beliefs, but he's been that way for a while.
I wonder what committee chair they offered him.
