How does one extract info now from a terrorist who may be hell bent on smuggling nukes, with the help of a rouge nation, on a ship entering the US? My point is since this administration has clamped down on so called torture what is the substitute procedure that will work?

You're asking me? I don't know but I know what I would do in a tight situation.

Torture, of course. You don't think we've never done it before, do you?

Well it should be readily apparent that torture is totally ineffective in the ticking bomb scenario, when you don't have a month and time to waterboard a suspect 183 times!

Torture is often difficult to prove, particularly when some time has passed between the event and a medical examination, or when the torturers are immune from prosecution.
Many torturers around the world use methods designed to have a maximum psychological impact while leaving only minimal physical traces.
Medical and Human Rights Organizations worldwide have collaborated to produce the Istanbul Protocol, a document designed to outline common torture methods, consequences of torture, and medico-legal examination techniques.
Typically deaths due to torture are shown in an autopsy as being due to "natural causes" like heart attack, inflammation, or embolism due to extreme stress.[66]
