and we're so happy we take to the airwaves to brag about it!

No, I'm not talking about GM, Chrysler, BofA or Merrill Lynch, or even the local shop where you may buy your coffee, donuts, cigs or other items. These outfits take it seriously when their market share, gross revenues adn therefor profits contract. But not the Republican Party!

On learning the news that a House district where they held a numerical advantage of 70,000 voters and which they had held for most of the last 80 years was gone, they ignored the news. Their national party chairman, who had all but guaranteed a win was pretty much silent on the issue. So, no big cause for celebration.

But, on hearing that one of their senior members, who had held the seat for almost 30 years was bailing on them, they broke out the champagne. Well, probably not "Champagne" becuase to be "Champagne" it must come from grapes grown in the Champagne region of France, and we all know the Rs hate all things French. Except for nuclear power plants.

To hear Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn tell it you would have thought that Ronal Reagan had been sighted working a 7-11 in South Dakota. They were overjoyed to know that not only are the Rs in a shrinking minority, they're looking at ways to shrink further.

John Cornyn is already working on a standardized campaign slogan for the GOP Senators who are up for reelection in 2010; "Wait until 1994".

I'm glad to see the party leaders so happy at the news. And I sincerely hope that Susan Collins and or Olympia Snowe consider doing all they can to "spread more good news" to the Republican leadership.

LOL, can you imagine GM saying "I'm glad we have less customers, we need to purge all those buyers who aren't real drivers."
