RE: Knee jerk reactions
When Obama took a few days to meet with the military leaders & the FBI to decide how to handle the Somali pirates, I read numerous posts accusing him of being a wimp, a coward, and so on, because he wasn't aggressive enough. They said negotiations wouldn't work. Some jerks even said to bomb Somalia. So I asked these people how they suggest he free Captain Phillips. When the SEALs rescued the Captain safely, Obama was called a murderer. I guess the people who said Obama was too soft but critiziced him for giving orders to shoot to kill, felt we could beam up the Captain?

I'm not sure how releasing the documents you mentioned endanger us. It proves we do not tolerate immoral and illegal behavior, which will help the United States get back the trust from other nations we lost during the Bush Administration.

Nonsense. That we used waterboarding was already well known in the world. Regardless, knowing what awaits after getting caught has no effect on national security. Indeed, signs that read "Screw the dog. Beware of owner" are used to enhance security.

0bama could have kept GITMO, at least until he had a place to put the terrorists that are "too dangerous".
Gitmo has not yet been closed.

Knee jerk reactions? Too funny.

I hope you are still infatuated with the guy when the economy, the war, world relations and terror attacks turn really bad in a year or so from now.

The OP still said he has problems with Obama, but likes him. Not good enough though for blind Obama haters like you?
Spector left because he knew he would lose the republican primary and not be on the ticket. If he isnt on the ticket he has no shot of keeping his seat. He admitted this much. Lets also not forget that he was also a democrat before and left that party once also.

I heard him talk about Chrysler this morning and although I do not agree with all of his ideas, it was probably a good idea. I am almost done with listening to Rush because he will criticize Obama no matter what he does and yesterday, he was praising Bush for God's sake!
Finally, someone who thinks like me. I quit listening to Rush 4 years ago because of his love for corporate greed & one sided agendas. As a matter of fact the only news program I watch is Lou Dobbs. Lou & the late Tim Russert seem like the only people in the media who didn't have an agenda. Bush deserved the critcism. After 8 years in office the country was in worse shape than when he took over, that's a fact. Obama, does not deserve some the criticism he is getting from the far right. I strongly disagree with Obama on his anti-gun stance, his lax attitude towards illegal immigration, & some of his socialist ideas, but the guy inherited a mess & has only been in office for 100 days. If in 4 years things are worse then yeah I'll criticise Obama too. But for those like Rush & others on the far right to say they want Obama to fail is sick! If our President fails we fail as a country. Some of you hardcore right wingers need to put aside your agendas. Many of which have been driven by people like Jerry Falwell & James Dobson who some way have hijacked some of the Republican party. I voted for McCain, but had serious thoughts about voting for Obama. But Obama is our President let's get behind him & be Americans so this country can move forward. Many thought we were doomed when Clinton became President & we ended up having the 8 best years this country ever had. It is sad how some people are so brainwashed by people like Rush too.

I couldn't believe that there were threads started on this site that said Obama was ruining the country BEFORE he was sworn in... Less than a week after he was sworn in, people were already freaking out and blaming stuff on him. I gave Bush nearly his entire first term to figure stuff out.... after that, I wasn't so happy. These people aren't even giving Obama 6 months... it's a little ridiculous.

Sure, this could be just a political strategy to get votes. I like to vote my conscience after studying all the issues and, if I find myself in conflict with a candidate's policies, I can't support him/her. Since I am a private citizen, it doesn't matter what I call myself, except in the FL primary where you need to declare your party. However, as a public official, one cannot hold office successfully without the support of his party. Look at what happened to John McCain. I think he would have had a chance had he not screwed up and selected Palin which turned off a lot of Republicans.

Anyway, Lieberman switched parties and even campaigned against Obama. Yet I didn't hear too many Republicans criticizing him for supporting McCain. What a difference a year makes, huh?

Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) is not ruling out running as a Democratic candidate in his reelection race in 2012. Lieberman said on Thursday that he has been asked by friends about the possibility of returning to the party that nominated him for vice president in 2000.

It is chasing reasonable, thoughtful people who love their country more than a political party away in droves. Some of us have become Independents, some Democrats, some followers of Ron Paul. But fewer and fewer will own the Republicans as their party of choice.

And, by the way, you'd have to ask the Bush Secretary of Finance who got the TARP funds.
Until I think 0bama is capable of telling the truth, and starts to display some competence, I'll always doubt what he has to say as either truthful or competent.

I was actually turning around to 0bama after he won the election. It seemed that the campaign politics were over, and an intelligent, thoughtful person was emerging. 0bama's economic advisory team looked bipartisan and extremely impressive. I was impressed when he said no lobbyists would find a home in his administration, that he would ban all earmarks, go thru the budget line by line and eliminate wasteful spending, that all bills that came before him would see sunlight before signing for 5 days, so we can all see the bills, and offer our comments.

I was so impressed, I was about ready to eat crow for doubting the man. But i was withholding judgment, because he had to prove his talk by following thru with his actions. But he slowly started to let me down:

He lied about all of these things. 0bama was appointing lobbyists in his administration at the same time he was signing the executive order to ban them.

He lies about sunlight before signing with his very first bill, not mention the second, third....

He lied about banning earmarks and government waste of taxpayer money by with both the stimulous bill and omnibus bill, even while stating the bill "did not contain any earmarks" and he did not go thru them line by line, and wasted billions in taxpayer dollars.

Appointment after administration appointment were found to be either tax cheats, former or current lobbyists.

His incompetence in foreign relations, from an embarrassing gift and iPod, or DVDs which would not even play in England, to bowing before the Saudi king.

Releasing hard copy top secret nation security documents about interrogation discussions, instead of simply establishing new interrogation policy.

And his latest, either being too incompetent to allow underlings to borrow Air force One on a whim, or knowing the aircraft was being used, and too cowardly to take responsibility.

There are just off the top of my head. Until 0bam can start being honest and competent, I'll continue to doubt his ability to be honest or competent.
