I checked the whole first page and didn't find any thread about Republican David Souter retiring from the US Supreme Court. I find that amazing. This means we're canning one right wing justice and will replace him with a more centrist or left of center supreme court justice. This is really great news for America because it means the court will be shifting one vote back towards mainstream America and away from the radical right.
Souter may have been appointed by a Republican (Sr. Bush), but its a well known fact that he has ruffled conservative feathers by voting consistently with the more liberal wing of the court. I'd say at most, a moderate-left will be appointed. Scratch ball in the pocket if you ask me.

He is right of center rather then far right but replacing him will be a step in the right direction. There are a few more which should retire soon no least being Justice Stevens who is pushing 90 years of age.
Souter was appointed by Bush I - the biggest mistake of his presidency.
Souter is firmly entrenched on the liberal side of the court.
Obama will be replacing a liberal with another liberal/socialist.
The make-up of the court does not change.
Have you ever looked at his voting record? If you had, you would realize how ignorant your OP is.
For your sake I hope Obama appoints the most radical, far-left judge he can find.
