This is what politics have become. These politicians are so corrupt, greedy and power hungry they will stop at nothing to get what THEY want. They could care less about American civilians. All they care about is pretending to be something they are not to fool the masses and get elected and reelected.
These times in Washington make the Clinton years look like Mr Rodger's neighborhood.

After reading the article, I don't think the columnist is slamming politicians so much as she's slamming bloggers. And I don't think this is what politics have become, it's what political opinion has become. Her point that the internet has changed the rules should be taken to heart. We all here are posting on-line, and many of our posts cross the line. Bloggers aren't just arguing the issues, many are trying to end the debate by resorting to personal attacks. Discredit someone, and you make their opinions irrelevant to the argument. It is a danger. And it's not a partisan issue, because the problems stem from both sides of the political spectrum.

Oh my, a food fight among the bloggers! Hmmm, lets see what issues are raised....

The disconcerting thing isn’t that the bloggers or their guests did this slamming. We’re used to such vitriol in campaign time. What is surprising is that the attacks are continuing after an election.
In the past, politicians and policy thinkers tended to be magnanimous in victory. They and their friends focused, post- victory, on policy and strategy -- not on trashing individuals.
Well ****! Here the Neocons have been so damned nice to Obama, and this is the way Obama supporters pay them back? Don't they understand that the talk of secession is being offered in a bipartisan spirit? Don't they understand the purchasing of weapons and ammunition to equal most countries is merely preparation for quail season? Don't they understand that the anti-Obama, er, excuse me, "Teabag" rallies were organized solely to promote the public interest?

So the writer apparently has learned one lesson from last elections rout, he just hasn't figured out that it applies mainly to the Neocon scum and their "Nobama, Obominator, Messiah" orgy.

So here’s a new motto: more leadership, less bloggership. Voters tend to tire the ad hominem approach. By smearing others, rather than putting forward ideas, the scribblers smear themselves instead.

And you disagree with the writer when she advocates less smearing, and more constructive discussion?

I love liberal bloggers. They are about the only ones holding right wingers feet to the fire...using their own words against them. And of course the corporate media doesn't like them...they are taking their business away and disrespecting their sense of entitlement.

And BTW Fred Hiatt is about the stupidest Editor in existence so who cares what he thinks?? He supported the Iraq War, he's supported illegal wiretapping...LOL

Oh no, it's just the "pot calling the kettle black" thing.

It's the Chicago way.

The Chicago Machine is in the White House and that's how they roll.

No surprises here.
