No wonder America's largest growth industry has been firearms and ammunition.
Don't believe the bull that this democratic administration will respect your second amendment rights.

At least Montana and Texas have some sense.

I'm sure Montana will be listed in the next DHS report under domestic threats. The DHS should put its own self in its reports. What's more dangerous to homeland security than a department of the govt. that decides certain Americans are dangerous.

Should the Senate ratify CIFTA, Americans who reload ammunition would be required to get a license from the government, and factory guns and ammunition would be priced almost out of existence due to governmental requirements to "mark" each one manufactured. Even the simple act of adding an after-market piece of equipment to a firearm, such as a scope or bipod, or reassembling a gun after cleaning it could fall into the category of "illicit manufacturing" of firearms and require government license and oversight.

In addition, CIFTA would authorize the U.S. federal government (and open the door to international entities) to supervise and regulate virtually the entire American firearms industry. Making matters worse is the fact that, as a treaty, this Act does not have to be passed by both houses of Congress, nor is it subject to judicial oversight. All Obama needs to do in order to enact this unconstitutional and egregious form of gun control is convince a Democratic-controlled Senate to pass it.

i find it very interesting that we have a president who is more interested in disarming the citizens, especially in light of the fact that unresolved trade imbalances lead to war throughout history.

germany, japan, and china artificially propped up the dollar. And this continues, to this day! Everyone wants to hold US debts and dollars but ONLY IF THIS GIVES THEM TRADE ADVANTAGES. The minute they feel, we can’t soak up any more credit and can’t buy any more Mercedes Benzes or Toyotas, boom! There it goes: down the tubes.

it certainly is something to think about!

after reading the OP links, i think texas is on the right track. the other bill introduced was also a good one:

On Wednesday, another House committee will hear a bill by Berman that would place an 8 percent surcharge on all money wired by illegal immigrants to Mexico and Central and South America. Berman said the bill would generate $480 million yearly. The revenue would be earmarked for hospitals, which he says bear the burden of providing health care for uninsured illegal immigrants and for border security.

about time!

The percentage of firearms owners in our country scares the bejesus out of the current administration. It spooked the previous three as well. Enough that a LOT of new legislation has been crammed through over the years. Little by little, laying the framework for doing away with the 2nd amendment. There has been talk of international involvement in this issue for some time now as well, and thats a really scary proposition. The UN has no business in our domestic policy (or anyone elses either). To much credance has been lent that body.

This is why the framers of the constitution put the 2 nd admendant in the first place. Government wanting to control the citizens.
Armed citizens = freedom
unarmed citizens = slaves

Unfortunately, international treaties take precedence over our laws and constitution. If Obama signs the CIFTA treaty and the Senate ratifies it, gun owners in this country are in deep doo-doo.

International tweety does not overrule our constitution. If anything will cause a civil war in this country it will be this. Americans will not give up their guns without a fight. The gov does not want this headline: "The US Government is Killing it's Citizens to Take away their Firearms"

Rick Perry for President.....................America needs another Texan in the WH. We don't speak ebonage.

How are they going to enforce these laws? There's not enough police on the streets to stop real criminals much less the ones like me that will become a criminal. I really need to order a couple of bullet molds and start collecting scrap lead.

There is not a treaty that can usurp the COTUS. Obama knows this.
