Myself for not hiring a termite service.

If Obama could fix what everyone expected in 3 months, then he would indeed be the Messiah or at least a prophet like Moses who could use his staff to part the seas. (a little pun there) However, even the most competent leader can't perform miracles. In the first 3 months he has passed more bills and been more active than any president in my lifetime. I have never seen so much resistance from a president's opponents. It would be funny if it weren't so frustrating & pathetic.

When I see posts like "I lost my job in March in it's Obama's fault" it says to me that this person either has no understanding of business & politics or that he needs someone to blame for his misfortune. Why not the previous administration? It's not as if a company has to lay off people because of the last month's earnings. If so, that would indicate the business had been in financial trouble for several months. People don't close up shop because of a bad week or even a bad month.

By late 2008 the stock market had already tumbled, we had already bailed out companies like Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers had already collapsed, we had been in Iraq for over 5 years, the auto companies were caving in, the housing bubble had burst and record numbers of foreclosures hit several states, unemployment had reached double digits in many areas..and these are only the problems that pop into my head at this moment. I remember posting on city-data threads asking "when will we hit bottom?" over a year ago.

No matter what I write, people will continue to yell "It's all Obama's fault," so these words are probably futile.

George Bush dumped a lot more than that, and had a dismal economic record (except for the rich, who benefited disproportionately via tax cuts).

So your point is not valid without more qualification.

"Business cycle" a new term for you? Check the back of that ECON text, you'll probably find some more.
