President Obama has proposed and what his policies are. Instead of first getting information from the original source (as is usual and purely common sense), people allowed others to tell them what to believe.

If the voting public had actually followed Obama's political career and listened to what he said/promised and observed what he was doing rather than blindly following the man the media created, I doubt that we would be having this conversation.

Ah, but they did! People read both of his books, listened to his speeches and watched the debates, both during the primaries and general election. They turned out in droves to see and hear him. The entire world paid attention, and I don't doubt that many of those people could give some C-D posters a primer on his beliefs and proposals. It's a bitter pill to swallow, but Obama had quite a history of successes before he entered politics; the media created nothing.

JFK speaking on being a liberal is relevant to today's political scene as well.
I agreed with him then and agree with him now. It's unfortunate that today's
political climate is so poisonous that an honorable set of values such as the ones he espoused is smothered by the right-wing hatred of liberals; a true
understanding of the history of liberalism in America and a clear understanding
of what liberals find important would be edifying.

My Left Wing:: John F. Kennedy: On Being a Liberal

being a liberal used to mean that you were in favor of liberty and the constitution as written. it goes to show that alot has changed, as liberals and republicans do not believe in either concept.

Everyone who want to pay more taxes and increased govt - please raise your hand.

I say let's put this debate to bed once and for all - let's have a National vote (just as the vote for President) and see if Americans really want this.
Just one stipulation - to qualify to vote on this issue, you have to actually pay taxes.
