no restrictions on gun ownership would mean all murderers released from prison can own all the guns they want, anyone can buy a machine gun, no restrictions on concealed [or open] carry of firearms, anywhere - ad nauseum. no conservative advocates that.
Let's see: I want to buy a M1A1Abrams tank and put it in my front yard - can you please find me a Conservative who advocates this?
Or, how about the SAM launcher - anyone out there help me?
Greatday - With a Federal License and enough money you can legally own both the tank and the SAM. However they do know who you are and what you own. It is the handguns and knives they want to regulate so they know where those are as well.

OK, I'll accept that (can't wait to get the tank!)
But, as for regulating handguns and knives so they know who has them, this is where the revolt comes in.
As it stands right now - I can purchase a handgun, legally, and go through no background checks or registration.
anyone of either party who has views so extreme, and are so closed minded they refuse to even try to understand or have empathy for things they disagree with

It is any person that a left wing loon is in complete disagreemnt with.
