Now just for fun, the United States should remove everything it owns from within the borders of Oklahoma, officially recognize its sovereignty, and invade it...in that order.

"the State of Oklahoma hereby claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government by the Constitution of the United States"

You guys ought to read the bill for yourselves. The quote above is from HJR 1003, which the Governor vetoed. HJR 1028 cannot be vetoed and it was passed and sent to the OK senate. The 10th Amendment is clear and many states are simply reminding the Federal government that they are overstepping. OK is claiming sovereignty alright, but not in the sense that some of you are using the word. They're saying you (FED) have specific powers and beyond that, butt the hell out. You should be congratulating the state of OK instead of comparing them to terrorists.

Talking Oklahoma declares its sovereignty-TODAY

Oh, no!

The only thing that keeps Texas from slipping off into the Gulf of Mexico is the fact that Oklahoma sucks.

Last I heard OK residents paid federal taxes for this stuff. All sales final...no refunds. Ask the Russians what they got from the Ukraine. Zippo.

It's ok by me if they don't want federal funds. It just means more money for Virginia.

I think we're beginning to see a "revolution" in todays society, many states are writing their own laws which ignore the federal governments laws. California with marijuana, Montana, and Texas on gun rights are just 3 examples.

I predict a future legal challenge on the federal level and hopefully, states win that challenge limiting the size of federals government.

Exactly- As if something is so wrong with this concept. Why would people in Oklahoma have to be subject to the same laws as someone on the upperwest side of manhattan?
