This morning da King of the blog, All the King's Men, came out with some proof about how they do lean and which direction. To save people from having to separate all his words from those of his commenters I will just put on all his words with the links he provided. Too much bandwidth but I don't know how else to do this.

The Pew poll (and many others) says the media is liberal.

Liberal Media Evidence

The Gallup poll says the media is liberal.

Here's a link showing how the AP overpolls Dems to skew results.

Vocal Minority: Liberal Media Bias: AP Fixes Poll by Polling Twice as Many Dems than GOPers

Here's a Pew poll showing that journalists wanted Obama to win the presidency by a margin of 8 to 1.

By Nearly 8-to-1, Voters Say Journalists Want Obama to Win | NewsBusters.org

Here's a study from 2005 that says 58% of Americans think the media has a liberal bias. There's also a ton more evidence at this link.

On The Liberal Bias Of The Dominant Media

In 2004, MSNBC looked at political contributions from journalists. Of 143 who made campaign contributions, 125 gave to Dems, and only 16 gave to Repubs.

Here's a link showing that 81% of media people voted Democrat in the 70's.

Media Bias Basics

Here's a link showing that in 2008, journalists made campaign donations at a rate of 10 to 1 in favor of Democrats over Republicans.

Well ... then maybe the fairness doctrine should be brought back for conservative's sake . It seems logical that anyone who believes the media leans too far one way - would support the fairness doctrine if it could be applied to all outlets. Unfortunately, the fainess doctrine is what liberals want, right?

NO NO NO!!!!

We just watch as these idiot Liberals lose their fortunes and are forced to close their media outlets. Let the free market decide! We should never impose limits on political speech in the press, no matter how biased it is.

But good post, nicely done. +1 rep for your hard work!

Does the MSM really lean left in thinking?

I hope so, the further they distance themselves from the racist right the better....

I think MSM is homogenized and corporatized.

But what if eventually the "free market" chooses the liberal view? What would you say then? If you would say the same, then that is fine. I just think that unless you support a fairness doctrine, you should not complain of media bias.

The polls above prove that when the "Liberal" media, actually corporate and conservative, speaks most people still listen.

Explains how we got in the hole we're presently in.

If one simply remembers in the case of Akres V Fox News, MSM was one of the media companies which wrote amicus curae briefs supporting Fox's sucessful contention that it was NOT bound by FCC precident to present accurate factual information, but could instead distort facts to fit its finacial interests, then polls are not necessary to deduce true intent.

Default Does the MSM really lean left in thinking?

To varying degrees, but not to the extent that RW crackpot radio says.

Of course, Fox is now a major player in the MSM and they're decidedly right-leaning. The fact is, all MSM networks are owned by corporate conglomerates. These are big business, peddling a product. They're not going to be very liberal.

If you want unbiased information, watch PBS and/or listen to NPR. They're the best.

Would it be that Right Wing crackpot radio that is to be controlled by the fairness doctrine? Of course, I know it is but then some here don't seem to know anything about what that little bit of liberal crap is all about.

Saying that the Fairness Doctrine has anything to do with the print media is showing a lack of knowledge about what it is.

Yes, Mr. Gringo, I know that you know better but many here seem to not know what it is all about.

Did you look at more of the links I provided than some of the others did? I think that many of them read none at all.

Why do you bring in race to everything like this? Don't bother to tell me that you are a racist as it is quite obvious. Oh yes, black people can be racist.
