I've yet to see anybody put in jail for a successful suicide...

My parents are both in the example Neuling gives - in a Personal Care home and a VA long term hospital... Mom's 82 dad's 91...

If I ever get to the condition that they're in now, I've made it VERY clear - hand me the keys to a car inside a garage that's got a full tank of gas - and a good collection of Jimmy Buffett cd's in a multiple disc player... and of course, take me to that spot - kiss me - tell me you love me and come get me when I'm gone...

Wow, the car in the garage method, is it quick?

While we are reasonable, the decision is clear. But when the time comes, most people shy away.

It's strange, we love our pets and when they are hopelessly ill and suffer, we put them out of their misery because we can't take watching them suffer. Why is it different with humans?
