After originally saying anyone involved in leaking the name of the covert CIA operative would be fired, Bush told reporters: "If somebody committed a crime, they will no longer work in my administration."
Like I stated above, Fitzderald never brought charges against anyone for "outing" Plame. Outing means leaking the name of the covert CIA operative would be fired, Bush told reporters: "If somebody committed a crime, they will no longer work in my administration."
No covert CIA operative's name was leaked. Therefore, no firing
Valerie Plame was a low level CIA officer. Had she had major covert responsibility, the CIA would have never owned up to knowing she even existed, thus there would be nothing to "out." Even at low level, they probably didn't own up to knowing her. Truly covert CIA officers officially aren't employed by the CIA. When they die in action, they get a star on a wall because even after death they are not recognized by name. Family members know little about the circumstances of their loved ones death. Valerie Plame likely was a desk jockey that had access to Top Secret info. Real covert CIA officers don't make tabloid fodder.
Duke doesn't miss much. "Newer stuff" won't negate her testimony, which was, once again, given under oath. Had she lied then, the CIA would have
been screaming it on the Washington Mall. What I find most appalling is that her specialization was WMD; just the kind of expert we need most but have
too few of. Plus, Bush 41 made outing an agent illegal after Philip Agee
wrote a book and named names. Bet GWB didn't mind Poppy as a boy.
Real covert CIA officers don't make tabloid fodder.

They do when the Vice President asks a reporter to leak that information.
Precisely my point. The Vice President was presumably able to out Plame because he KNEW of her. The Vice President wouldn't know the names of deeply covert officers. Compartmentalization is pretty effective at the CIA. Plame was never that deep to begin with.
So reading the MSNBC Link it appears that Bush knew nothing about this event and was generated out of Cheney's Office, correct? If this is the case then I do hope either Holder of Leahy goes after the Bush Regime for their Torture Program with the full power that is afforded to them and people are prosecuted... Cheney truly is Satan and he needs to be punished.
Oh, please! Cheney certainly knew who Joe Wilson was, and asked Scooter Libby to find some dirt on him. As if the VP can't get answers when he wants them...how else do you think the name of a covert operative made the papers? Such a post just reflects the lengths some people will go to in order to avoid dealing with reality. Wilson said "No yellowcake from Niger" and that didn't suit the admin's very public claims to the contrary. Bravehearts that they were, they attacked him via his wife. It really isn't a difficult story line to follow. Is an article from Fox News more acceptable to you?
