Thousands of St. Louis jobs on the chopping block | ksdk.com | St. Louis, MO (http://www.ksdk.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=175364 - broken link)

Quote:
KSDK -- Thousands of jobs could be in jeopardy at St. Louis' second largest employer: Boeing.

The aerospace company announced the government's planned defense budget cutbacks will slow production of two locally-built planes and eliminate the jobs of the employees who make them. Michael Moran has helped build hundreds, if not thousands, of C-17 cargo planes.

...The bottom line is Boeing needs to get through to President Obama, Congress and Secretary Gates. If not, they stand to lose more than 5,000 jobs at Boeing in St. Louis, and 30,000 total local jobs, including suppliers.
Trickle down economics. These are high-paying, union jobs.

Elections have consequences.

OK sanrene; which is it? Are we spending too much, or not spending enough? It can't be both!

Obama is going to get rid of the high paying jobs and create temporary low paying infrastructure jobs with government tax dollars.

They'll be temporary unless you swear allegiance and your undying dependency on the "system". If you acquiesce, you'll be rewarded with a permanent job and good bennies.
