unbelievable. . . initially I was defending jerzs attack on bush's intellect and appearance. Then HateMachine said she questions the intellect of Bush followers after I had stated I question those who criticize Bush. So was I taking a cheap shot? I think not. But go ahead and twist it as you will.

Um bush got into those colleges because of his daddy and of course the colleges would be easier on him because of who his father is. Plus he graduated with crappy grades.

Here I will defend the academic community: Neither Yale nor Harvard are given to coddle their students. If Bush did well, he did it on his own or with help outside of the academic administration. If he did poorly, he did it on his own, or without any help or intervention from others.

Universities of this caliber don't give folks a free ride! Trust me, I worked at two such institutions, and I always made it hard!

That certainly is denegrating the faculty at these fine institutions. What exactly were his "crappy" grades, btw?

Anyone interested in the Bush's Administration historical contribution, may consider listening to www.democracynow.org (today's program 4/10).

I find the information provided by Peter Eisner regarding Niger uranium mining very compelling! You may or may not be surprised at how intelligence was gathered for the war in Iraq--but this clear mis-step by President Bush and Vice President Cheney allays any doubt I might have had that he is among the worst presidents we've had in this country.

NY TIMES HEADLINE
"78% of Americans Against Getting Into a Pacific War"
3 weeks before Pearl Harbour when FDR was trying to get Us involved against Japan.

NY TIMES HEADLINE
"92% of Americans Want War With Japan"
1 week after FDR bottled up the American fleet in Pearl Harbor and it was attacked.

So, for all you people out there who don't remember history, and how bad really bad and manipulative presidents in the past, maybe you should research all the past wars, like FDR and Pearl Harbour, and Lincoln and the civil war, and JFK/LBJ and Vietnam, and what the hell were we doing in Korea and Bosnia either?
If this thread is about 'bad' presidents because of war involvement, look at them all - Bush is no worse, and not even as bad as others in history of the US have been.

We are talking about now. When I look at now, I equate this President as a poor choice and a poor example to represent this country. Comparing other Presidents doesn't hold up much for me.

And, if FDR or others lied, we wouldn't have had a Pearl Harbour--would we?

ontheroad - "we are talking about now" that is not the thread title, it is is Bush the worst in US history. With al the lying, shemeing pols we have had in the past Bush seems like a poor choice as worst.
Tell me, how many died in the Civil War and what did they die for?
Same question with WWII and the war with Japan.
Final questions, (for extra points), when was the last good war and which US wars killed the most Americans??

shammy, I am only putting him in a pot of bad presidents. Only time will tell where in the long line, he'll fall or rise!
