Newt Gingrich is calling on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to resign her leadership post Tuesday, days after deriding the California Democrat as a "trivial politician" over her description of what the CIA has told her about aggressive government interrogation techniques.
Over the last couple of days there have been several reports detailing inaccuracies in the CIA accounts. While I certainly have no great love for Speaker Pelosi, and feel that she has been quite ineffective as Speaker of the House, I think that there is just too much conflicting information to say for sure whose account is more accurate, and certainly nothing I've heard or read so far would warrant her stepping down.
That's really the bottom line. This whole thread is right wingers pretending Newt Gingrich is relevent anymore. As if anybody cares what he thinks?
