Unfortunately, you're probably right, but if he can play it the right way, you never know where it could lead. I think people here (in California) are truly fed up with illegal immigration and a quality of life that has deteriorated significantly over the last 10 to 20 years. We saw on Tuesday in the special election that the people are unwilling to pay one more dime in taxes if they can help it. (And I'm one of those people.)

I haven't even thought of the crazy woman for awhile now.

The kids are the real ones who will be "in trouble" - sadly.

I saw somewhere that despite TX's large border....we have something like 1/6th the number of illegals that CA does.

Reason? They get the easy life in CA.

As far as the special election, I'll have to read more about that.

Ahh, see thats the beauty of it.. the neighbor states will then have such a money crunch that they will also need to consider similar actions.

Yes, they stop in TX for food and water on their way passing through to states where they can get handouts for nothing..

They get more than they should here. But at least we make it a little harder on them than many other states seem to.

welfare supplements low paid jobs inc illegal immigrants black market jobs.
this will have some big effects on illigal immigration. of course w/o welfare there is no basis of medical for many. medical is #1 giant drain on CA. business will fight cutting welfare.

All welfare, food and 'benefits' should be adminstered through the public schools - maybe then people will see the value of education!
