Good luck getting it through the ultra-blue Legislature.
Unfortunately, you're probably right, but if he can play it the right way, you never know where it could lead. I think people here (in California) are truly fed up with illegal immigration and a quality of life that has deteriorated significantly over the last 10 to 20 years. We saw on Tuesday in the special election that the people are unwilling to pay one more dime in taxes if they can help it. (And I'm one of those people.)

I saw somewhere that despite TX's large border....we have something like 1/6th the number of illegals that CA does.
Reason? They get the easy life in CA.
As far as the special election, I'll have to read more about that.
welfare supplements low paid jobs inc illegal immigrants black market jobs.
this will have some big effects on illigal immigration. of course w/o welfare there is no basis of medical for many. medical is #1 giant drain on CA. business will fight cutting welfare.
There is only one problem with this is they will flood to neighbor states like Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Nevada.
Hopefully, they will head the other way;due south, the direction from which most of them came from.
