Of course you mean a U.S. history book, don't you? You do realize that Canada and the U. S. are both part of the continent of North America, along with Mexico, making all three countries American?

Just reading her posts, I get the feeling that LG doesn't want to understand, because understanding that would destroy most if not all of her arguments.

The evidence is plain and simple.
Kids do better living in a household with a mother and a father. Period.
There are plenty of examples for that online, and they don't necessarily have to come from a religious constituent.
So post some of that "evidence"! Everything I've seen so far comes from either non-scientific sources (blogs) or from obviously biased sources (NARTH).

according to what? same goes for a female raising a male! we all know what the outcome of many single parent homes are like with a woman as the provider on the identity of young men. disastrous.

The thing I don't get is why you seem to think that parents are the ONLY role models a child ever sees. What about siblings, aunts and uncles, grandparents, friend's parents, friends of the parents?
Where is your proof that being raised by a single mom has negative affects? My mother, raised 4 boys all by her self. NO, help. NO welfare. Infact, I can personally say that I am a better person than most. I learned to have a respect for women that most dont have. due to my mom having four boys as we grew it became more costly, so as we all became of working age we got jobs to help out the family and allow our mother to go to school. Sadly, my mom passed away before she could see the fuits of hard work and ethics that she instilled in us. Each one of us has become something to be proud of.

These two posts make a point that I'm not sure any of you see - despite the similarities of the background of each of these two posters, they still have different views about single parenting. Not sure what 'caused' the divergence of opinion, but I suspect it may have had something to do with why the mothers were single, how each mother addressed the situation in discussions with them as children, or a combination of the two. Point being that each instance of single parenting is different, with different outcomes - the same way each instance of male/female or male/male or female/female parenting is different, with different outcomes.

All sources have some bias, to just outright dismiss would be to never accept any discovery or study.
