Yes, courts have said that marriage is a right.

When are we going to have people protesting peoples " right" to drive a car? How dare the city suspend or take away someones right to drive a car.
What an inane comparison.

I think the ones that get so crazy about it are closet cases. Why else take what other people do behind closed doors so personally?

It's not a right. You have to have a license to drive.

How about if we only let men drive? It's natural for men to drive since they are mechanically inclined and can change their own tires and refold road maps. If we get rid of women drivers the roads will be safer.

Starting tomorrow, the DMVs all over the country will revoke women's licenses, and they can stay home pregnant and barefoot and not try to get above their raisin'. How dare they want to be equal to men!

This is like your 5 thread on basically the same subject. Who is the emotional one?

People in America don't care about gays, until they go look at me I am gay and proud of it. You don't see obese people or smokers going around going look at me I deserve my right to be overweight or smoke. They are just happy they have the right. The more gays push for marriage, the more the majority who oppose it will react more to stop it.

There's a hidden agenda behind the whole "gay rights" issue.

What I'm learning is that gays want a whole lot more than just legal equality. They want acceptance. Believe me, you can say you're for gay rights and would vote in favor of any legislation granting gays equality (and you can be completely sincere in this), but dare you say you're uncomfortable with homosexuality, or you're not wholly convinced it's normal, and they'll come down on you so hard you won't know what hit you. Next thing you know, you're an ignorant bigot.

They want more than their rights. They want those of us who would never deny them their rights, to also embrace them and concede that they're as normal as apple pie.

Ah, whatever. Be anti-gay all you want. I'm mostly tired of dealing with those types. Too much trouble. (although I do enjoy needling some of them --> FCG )

Bingo. And they want to carry that over into the educational system, so that our children are taught the same.

Wrong. It's not that simple. Something else to consider: two-thirds of adults ages 18-30 support same-sex marriage, while two-thirds of adults over 65 are against it. It doesn't take a fortune-teller to predict how this movie is going to end.
