Um, the whole point of the thread is that "waterboarding = torture"..
If your truly a law enforcement agent, (for 20+ years), you must be an awful one, maybe you should be let go and replaced by soemone who knows how an interrogation works..
I never said I was a law enforcement officer or agent. Where'd you get that notion from? You are aware that there are many, many different careers in the justice system other than law enforcement officers, aren't you?
You made a huge leap when you assumed that just because a person has worked in the legal/justice system throughout their career that they must have been a law enforcement officer. LOL LOL
It's still not torture. This guy is a radio host that's probably never experienced anything more miserable than being caught in rush hour.
Yeah....it sucks....bad, but he's fine, is he not? Our SEALS have it done to them in training so they know that to expect. But they recover instantly, do they not?
Torture is not being made uncomfortable, being scared or THINKING you might die. Torture is being savagely beaten. Torture is being physically abused, where you don't recover.
If this doesn't work or help protect our country, then release the memos and prove it. If the memos show proof that it doesn't work, I'll be the first to jump off the bandwagon.
But they're not going to, because that wouldn't help their cause. I'm for whatever keeps my family and this country safe.
Certainly you must know that "safety" is an illusion. There is no such thing as absolute safety. I don't know where people got this idea that it is possible to SECURE "Safety"..............seems to me that the more a person tries to "catch" and "secure" safety, the more safety eludes them. Seeking safety is based on FEAR.

Actually, he drowned when he was a child. Obviously, he was revived. He says he has full memory of it. It's at the end of the video he posted on youtube.
She wasnt guilty, she committed no crime, she accused The CIA of committing a crime, distracting to Cheney and McCain has what to do with the topic, or anythign else for that matter? Continuing to repeat that people were tortured is making you look folish because you cant think for yourself and obviously have not read through the threads
"She" is Lynndie England. And, yes, she served three years in prison.
"England was convicted on September 26, 2005 of one count of conspiracy, four counts of maltreating detainees and one count of committing an indecent act. She was acquitted on a second conspiracy count. Along with a dishonorable discharge, England received a three-year prison sentence on September 27. The prosecution had asked the jury to imprison England for four to six years."

I totally agree that "states" in this country have indeed executed innocent people. That is the major argument AGAINST THE DEATH PENALTY. I am very strongly against the death penalty, in fact.
Which COMPLETELY contradicts your posting here

They assert and NO INNOCENT person has ever been executed in the U.S. because they also assert we have such perfect death penalty laws, there is no room for error. Unfortunately, after a person has been executed, as a rule the "government" "prosecutors" destory all the evidence and files in the case, so it's pretty hard after that point to prove that the person executed was innocent.
Then again, we do have DNA evidence which has proven that a number of people on death row were innocent. And DNA evidence is relatively new. Plus the fact that NOT ALL "murder" death row cases had any DNA evidence at all. However, common sense tells us all that innocent people have been executed by the state. The problem becomes proving the person's innocence after execution........which would then "prove" there are "fatal flaws" in our death penalty laws.....and would likely get the death penalty outlawed in this country, yet, once again.
SO, if you have PROOF that innocent people have been executed, or even good evidence that ONE INNOCENT person was executed, please contact the Innocence Project and advise them of what knowledge and evidence you have.
Yeah, it doesnt say that YOU said no one innocent was executed, but you thought to just ramble on and on and on, to argue with me over it even though you now proclaim that you agreed with my statement. Man, you better get checked for multiple personalities.

Not me. Never worked for law enforcement.
I dont care if your a court reporter, you obviously still dont know what your talking about, evidence by the fact that you obviously didnt know how ANY interrogation takes place and how the interviewer determines of the one being interrogated is beint truthful

Um, the topic is waterboarding and the legality of it, Lynndia England NEVER waterboarded ANYONE.. What relevance does she have to the conversation?
phg...why are you arguing with this guy....he is a self hating American. Hates the military, hates law enforcement.....20 years in the "justice" system....20 years as a liberal defense lawyer....I guess part of the "justice" system but a good reason to hate lawyers. He would welcome Al Qaeda onto our shores and help the women of this country into Burkhas!!! He's the lunatic that would, WITHOUT A DOUBT, make the decision NOT to waterboard and allow hundreds of thousands of Americans to die in a biological attack.....California is about to go bankrupt because of people who think like him but don't worry they won't be lonely...democratic strongholds like New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Michigan will be following shortly to give them company. What do all of these states have in common...guess....Democratic leadership (Arnold is a Democrat in Republican clothing) who insists on taxing the hell out of the producers and turning it over to social programs, illegal immigrants, and the lazy. The scary thing is the exact thing is about to happen at the Federal level and the American public is asleep at the wheel.

I honestly dont know. I guess I have hope that these liberals will understand the flaws in their arguments and will eventually come to realise that the current politicians in Washington are just grandstanding while not taking actions.. They talk about how it should be illegal but they could easily adjust the definition of "torture" to make sure there is no confusion in the future.
They jump from the Constitution, to the Geneva Convention, to another argument after another, and NONE of them are even close to showing that "waterboarding = torture".. Sure, lots of opinions say it is, but laws are not governed by opinions.
If they disagree with waterboarding of those in Gitmo, their anger should be focused upon the Democrats in Congress who have not changed the law making it illegal. They continue to repeat over and over that something is illegal thats not. If they feel so strongly that the procedure should be illegal, maybe they'd be better spending their time making sure that the procedure is actually truly outlawed.
Democrats have EVERY branch of government, they can (and maybe should) make the procedure illegal. Pretending its illegal though does not make it so..
