The consequences of the spendathon will, at some point, become clear and I certainly hope you're correct that it will happen before 2012. That said, I'd still like to see the RW extremists go.

And there you have it folks. well said easy, the republican party is going to be just fine. The first black pres, grama frisco and dirty harry will do half the work for them, my personal feeling is that Newt Gingrich who happens to be one of the most savvy and intelligent politicians on the scene, is working right now on 1994 part 2, there are a lot of young fresh conservatives in the party, it will purge itself of the old stale arlen specter types, and come back principled and reinvigorated ready to fight the collosal socialistic movement devouring our nation right now!

I hope the "Newt" does run in 2012, how old is he, about 75? It will be a slam dunk for Obama...

It is already happening. I have heard many people say they wish they had known what this congress would have done. I don't know why they didn't. I guess people are just trusting souls, but it pays to look at what people have done in the past rather than listen to what they say. Is there anyone that does not know that our nation is in a bad state with no logical person in charge. Most of the people I see in Washington look like a deer in headlights. At least the Republicans stand for something.

RON PAUL should be the role model for the republicrat party.

They keep scratching their asses and say where are the leaders, where are the leaders, where are the conservatives?

RP for whatever reason is ignored or dissed by Rush, Hannity, Michael Steele/Tin, and Cheney.

Yet Dr. Paul has a great understanding of and respect for the US Constitution. Far more than Cheney, Steele, GWB, and any other "leading" republicrats. It is very obvious any time he's interviewed by anyone.

Cheney is by far the best and most eloquent spokesman the party has. And he is a real speaker, using real facts and a real understanding of history when he speaks, rather than BO's "eloquence" of glittering generalities, false promises, empty phrases, teleprompter malfunctions, and the most arrogant visage since...Bill Clinton.

As I see it, the Rs have the McCain/ Lindsey Graham/ Jeb-Jethro Bush/ Colin Powell (aka D)/ Joe Lieberperson left field wing, who are nothing but D-lites. They advocate open borders, aka the key to destruction for any nation, unconstitutional government and illegal, confusing laws, and generally just a somewhat slower slide down the democrat/neo-comm slope to tyranny.

On the other side are solid constitutionalists like RP, Oklahoma senators Coburn and Inhofe, Michigan rep. Peter Hoikstra, and a few dozen other strong contenders who for whatever reason aren't front and center.

So I'd say the problem is as much with "spokesmen" like Rush and Hannity who seem either ignorant of or uninterested in the real conservatives, and with Michael Steele who needs to decide what he believes in and whether he's Steel or Tin.

Meanwhile, despite his shortcomings, Cheney is putting the case front and center better than anyone of either party, by far. He's an excellent speaker with a powerful mind.

He's as sharp as Britain's Euro Union rep. Daniel Hannan, who is smart, eloquent, and doesn't waste time with politician-talk aka mumbo-jumbo that means nothing in 150 words or more.

I think the radical Hugo Chavezzing of America along with the pantywaste left of the R party will ignite the constitutional wing. Getting RP or another front and center will be more difficult.

Placing themselves as D-lites, having a frikkin "listening tour" ala Hillary Clinton is just the most pitiful, pathetic, foolish thing that any grown man could do.

Nice work, John, Jeb-Jethro, Bobby, et al. You couldn't look more like a bunch of pitiful fools if your "tour" was designed and executed by Rom Emmanuel.

Look I am very libertarian minded, but lets be honest the above mention people are ignoring Paul for the same reason the American people are, he sounds like Gabby Hayes looks like Jack Kevorkian and his stand on the war on Terror and national defense are ludicrous, at least for the Republican party! When people say they would vote for either Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich, you know you got a message problem!

Democrats have all the power and they are abusing the power and therefore shooting themselves in the foot.

I am interested in why the Easley's are being attacked by their own. Could somebody be trying to get rid of the competition?
Tragically, that's not what this thread is about.

What are Easley's?

Mike Easley is the former governor of North Carolina who supported Hillary Clinton instead of Obama. He and his wife seem to be the subject of some federal investigation. I only mentioned them because I believe this is something political that is going on and they probably have done nothing wrong.

What I said is that I believe you need to be more concerned about your party than throwing mud at the Republicans and that is what this thread is about.

Wow. How is this thread throwing mud? I explained at least once its purpose. It's benign. You dont have to post if you dont want to.
