Whats strange is that Mr Falwell says they can't have the club because of the Democratic Parties position on abortion, LGBT issues. But then he goes on to say he hopes they find a Democratic organization that is pro life and pro family that they can be part of. My question is: couldn't THEIR Democratic organization have been pro life and pro family? It's so strange.

Besides that, I hate to see this kind of censorship at the college level. These are adults afterall. But then I don't agree with alot of thing some of the private Christian colleges do and those adults are their by choice.

I read about this earlier today. While I disagree with their action, I am sure they are within their rights, as a private school, to do it.

The guy's explanation was something like "If you are a Democrat, you cannot be a Christian."

Yep, university-level logic, for sure!

They are a private college and it's not as if the kids cannot attend Democratic events outside of school or hold the club off campus under the radar of the school if it really means that much to them.

When they go into the voting booth, the school can't force them to vote for a certain candidate.

There are plenty of Christian universities/colleges out there that would let them hold their club. Why not give them their tuition money?

Hendrix College comes to mind...but I'm biased because it's in my state and a lot of my friends attend the college.

What it boils down to is a private institution protecting the integrity of its principles. Pretty cut and dryed.
