okay so why did and do we cry and whine about enemy countries torturing people who are seen as a threat to them
Do you mean torture like electrocution of genitals, pulling out fingernails, decapitation..is that what you mean..oh I guess you are talking about waterboarding..pathetic

The name Republican used to me thoughtful, intellectually rigorous, pragmatic and above all else, sane.
For examples look up, Everett Dirksen, Nelson Rockefeller, Henry Cabot Lodge, Edward Brooke, George Romney, William Scranton, or Dwight Eisenhower just to name a few.
I agree with you. The people you named, and many others, were the type of Republicans that raised me. And though I didn't agree with them on all issues I did respect them and believe that they were just as right in their opinions as those on the other side of the aisle. But when people in the Republican party today would rather be represented by people like Dick Cheney than people like Tom Ridge or Colin Powell then it sadly shows that the Republican party as we knew it is dead.
Cheney Get's Slammed Back to Back By Republicans Tom Ridge and Colin Powell
Ridge and Powell are not chickenhawks. Both served in combat.
Cheney speaking up on military affairs like he's some sort of expert is like Bill Clinton speaking out on how to be a faithful hubbie.
