Yup, just like liberals demanding that everyone must pay taxes to support abortion on demand and gay marriages.
Besides abortion and gay lifestyles, what else do you think the Christians have on their agenda, that they want to force upon you?
Refer to newtoli and BChris's posts.
I wanted to get a discussion going about whether they would actually like to legislate those items (the ones less obvious than abortion and gay marriage).
Of course - all politics is about power.
My question is "what would they ideally like to ban/legislate?"
Logical reasoning and tolerance would be on top of a long list, just like it is in any country where a religion is allowed to be the constitution.
We already have bits and pieces of this going on, although, and thankfully, sanity still prevails in America. Here's an example: Yes, someone has to stand up to experts!
I already said they would bring back Prohibition. They could ban pornographic magazines but people would still have access to it via the Internet, unless they used the Patriot Act to log people's websites to prosecute them for visiting inapropriate ones.
The religious right:
promote conformism, make sure everybody marches to their cadence, and woe unto those who don't.
legislate laws according to their likes and dislikes.
reserve the exclusive right to designate who will be the enemies.
Yup, just like liberals demanding that everyone must pay taxes to support abortion on demand and gay marriages.
Besides their opinions on abortion and gay lifestyles, what else do you think the Christians have on their agenda, that they want to force upon you?
I know the left want to force:
Abortion
Gay lifestyles
green energy
AGW mandates
ever expanding government give-away programs
increased taxes
increased centralized federal government control
Seem like the left wants to force a lot of stuff on us, and they want us to pay for it all.
What is it exactly that the Christian right wants to force you to pay for?
Ohhhhh! The horrors of green energy!
May you continue to be amongst the masses mocking Noah as he warns of the flood and makes adequate preparations.
And ensuring people have the freedom to pursue their own deepest truth is not pushing a "gay lifestyle" on you. We have come a long way in overcoming bigotry against women and minorities. Now we, as a society, are simply turning that quest for universal freedom inward to people's sexual preference.
You can call that "liberal" all you want, but in fact it is simply humanity's innate quest toward "a more perfect union". You can't stop the slow but steady push toward freedom, no matter how hard you try.
To lock homosexuals up
To have everyone be a Christian
Make birth control illegal
Make abortion illegal
Make everyone attend religiously affiliated schools and colleges
Make life miserable for anyone who ISN'T a Christian or heterosexual
That's a given, they believe that the fetus is a human baby.
But the left does not want to just make both of these legal, they want you and me to pay for it with our tax dollars.

Don't be afraid to be specific.
