* DOUBLE STANDARD OF THE AMERICAN NEWS MEDIA *

This week, two different murders took place. Which murder did Obama and the Amrican News Media highlight the most...?

Are Obama and the Media two faced on terror...

This sounds like something that I saw on O'Reilly last night. Maybe you should learn to think for yourself.

Are you sure? I'm betting that more than two murders took place this week.

Whine, whine, whine.

One murder - like hundreds of others in this country last week, was a crazy guy who was acting on his own. It made the news, unlike most of the other murders last week. I even saw a report last night about how the killer had planned other attacks.

Another murder last week made more news. It was a crazy guy with a long history and prior convictions acting on behalf of a longstanding movement that has demonized the victim for 20 years. There was also a tiny but vocal minority who where cheering on the murder. There was a 3-year-long smear campaign against the victim by Bill O'Reilly.

It's simply asinine to imply that both murders should have received the same amount of attention.

Sorry, I don't watch O'Reilly. Post what he had to say.

I understand that it's frustrating, but news is a business. The sad fact of the Little Rock shooting is that in terms of media coverage, it got squeezed. The Tiller shooting that happened on a Sunday in a church was sensational and had momentum going into the week's coverage. The Little Rock shooting was further eclipsed by the news of the AirFrance jet disappearing over the Atlantic. Sometimes the news business is slow, and every story gets a lot of play and coverage. Sometimes events are clustered, and the business ends of it goes with the stories that are going to sell the most commercials, the most newspapers, the most advertisements. Abortion is such a hot-button issue, the murder of an abortion doctor sells. An airliner going down sells. Certainly the Little Rock shooting is an important topic, but it hasn't been ignored by the media, it's simply been pushed to page 2 because of lack of space.

This guy is a terrorist that acted on behalf of a long lasting extremist muslim movement against non muslims with plans to kill many more Americans.

This guy I agree is crazy and also a terrorist that did act on his own. Anyone cheering either murder are equally sick and possibly dangerous as well.

I can agree with the OP. In the case of the Tiller there was more coverage, more followup coverage and background pieces and more acknowledgment from Obama than the shooting of two Marines, killing one, William Long on U.S soil.

Both murders are acts of terrorism and both murderers are poster childs for the death penalty.

It would have been nice if our MSM at least pretended they cared about American servicemen getting shot on our streets and if Obama would have at the very least called the families but he was too busy doing a bit part for the new tonight show.

No double standard here. There is lots to backup why Dr Tillers murder received more attention including the fact that abortion is the biggest social controversy in the country today, the publics increasing disgust with the hate speech used by televisions talking heads and group leaders, and the fact that it was done in a church by someone who claims to be a Christan. There is no way this COULDN'T be big news, too many people on both sides talking about it. If people were talking about the other killer with as much energy it too would be big new. Don't blame the reporters or the politicians, blame the people like us who are the ones who DRIVE the news. A quick thread count on this forum proves that.

What does this have to do with Obama since he doesn't run or control the news media and what they report? Obama commented because he was asked about it. You Obama haters are unreal.
