It was to honor her son on Memorial Day. Who gives a rat's a$$ how big it was. It was here in the USA..aka AMERICA, therefore it should have been hung up. And of course they let her keep it, this was a PR nightmare.
It doesnt matter if the flag was 3'x5' or 30'x50'....if someone finds our United States flag OFFENSIVE.....GET YOUR A$$ OUTTA HERE THEN!
I agree 100% If you don't like the flag that you are living under then get out!
Good point, plannine, that said....the hospital should have had a clause in their employee handbook concerning this....if they didn't, then they had no right to take it down. Just my opinion!
I'd be willing to bet there's something in the handbook along the lines of "Other displays deemed inappropriate". Now don't eveyone jump on every word in here, I'm trying to give an example.
McLucas said hospital bosses told her as far as patriotism was concerned, the flag flying outside the hospital building would have to suffice.
"The disagreement was over the size of the flag and not what it symbolized. We have invited the employee to put the flag back up."
This was a large flag to put up in a shared office.
