Gee, I wonder how those who attend NASCAR races feel about the Flag - because they are African Americans.

My adoptive daughter - who is Black, has a Battle Flag Beach Towel - she carries it proudly.

What a bunch of Horse manure this issue is!

Why would they denounce the actions of the Black Panthers? Throughout the history of the Black Panthers, they've been lone cruisaders

This I agree with. Sure, the Confederate flag has been hijacked by racists and misused, but you cannot deny people's rights to fly it + you cannot assume that everyone who chooses to fly that flag is a racist.

I live in here in Miami-Dade and see foreign flags all the time. It doesn't bother me, but it bothers some people. I WANT people to have the right to fly whatever flag they want, albeit American, Confederate, Mexican or whatever, like it or not. Let's not allow political correctness to run wild and take away our freedoms, because a big part of being "free" is having to tolerate the freedom of others, even if you may/may not like it.

Because it's just a flag -- a flag that has been (unfortunately) hijacked by a racist minority, but a flag that doesn't actually stand for racism anyway. No one should attempt to ban it or restrict it.

That is exactly my point, thank you.It is the same thing thinking the SCV should denounce the nazi's.You can not control everybody that wants to fly a confederate flag.I hate it that the nazi's use this flag, but I by no means let that influence me.I fly my confederate out of respect for my heritage, their is not one bit of hate. But I will defend this flag till the day I die

at the risk of causing aaaaauuuuuusssstin13 to be involuntarily hospitalized [] in an apoplectic fit, here is a quote from the south florida times:

Quote:
NAACP officials on Wednesday said they are drafting a letter to NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France, who has publicly spoken out against the Confederate Flag in recent years.

If the civil rights organization does not get the racing league’s cooperation and support, officials there said they are prepared to begin contacting NASCAR’s sponsors, and to stage protests during the races.
gee. now i'm kinda glad austin13 had such an overreaction; otherwise i doubt i would've ever bothered to visit their website. thanks, aaaauuuusssstin13

so. the Miami-Dade NAACP is going to blackmail [excuse the pun] NASCAR sponsors and march in protest unless they ban private individuals from displaying the confederate flag at NASCAR events

this fellow sums things up very well:
Quote:
“The threat of a boycott is one that is frequently employed by the NAACP when it is displeased about something, which is most of the time,” said Roger McCredie, executive director of the Southern Legal Resource Center, an organization based in Black Mountain, N.C. that advocates for southern heritage causes.

Basically trying to keep their organization in the spotlight.Since Obama didn't come fro their ranks they have had a difficult time keeping their people separate and theirselfs in the spotlight. They made a big mistake not condemming Wright when Obama did..

Nascar should sue the NAAcrap idiots for demeaning their business like they do.

They need to be shut down, they go to far with this type of bull.

Do you see Nascar suing them for the closed fist power crap they have on most of their propaganda? No you do not.
