Nope.

Some ambassadorships might be considered prime posts, but the bulk of them are not. The practice of appointing wealthy men to these positions is customary for multiple reasons. Wealthy people tend to be well-traveled and sensitive to the fact that other countries will have different customs and practices. And wealthy people will pay for the refurbishment of embassy home quarters themselves.

Presidents generally appoint ambassadors who share their political ideology to a degree. It wouldn't make sense to post someone who is at odds with your political stances to serve as your representative in a foreign country.

And the postings you are discussing aren't anything like appointing "Brownie" to head up FEMA. Find an appointment like that, and I will be outraged.

Do you consider the ongoing reign of ex-Goldman Sachs employees as heads of the Treasury outrageous ?

Well gee, I searched for Campaign Contributors and nothing came up. Should I clear all threads with you ahead of time?

And of course, the liberals cannot admit wrong-doing and twist this to their own favor. So typical!

Wasn't upset about Bush doing it.
Not upset now.

I don't agree with the practice - but you guys are so good at freaking out, I'll just let you freak out for me.

I do not think it is unreasonable to look at the threads on the first page of topics and see if you are duplicating someone else's thread.

Then we are finally admitting that Obama would not qualify to be appointed Ambassador to anywhere, since he and Michelle have demonstrated that they are not sensitive to other countries' customs and practices?

Yeah and that attitude is why things like this keep happening. Those in washignton know they can lie to us and whatever and we will just keep electing them.

Its time we start holding them accountable
