When I was in high school, only boys could run for prom king and only girls could run for prom queen.
If you read the LA times article I posted, they decided to make an exception for Sergio because he wanted to be a part of the Prom Court but he "didn't feel right running for Prom King".
And of course they didn't want to hurt his already hypersensitive feelings and they made an exception to let him run for Prom Queen.

Feminine gay men have always felt the brunt of homophobia for sure. They're usually the ones getting beat up, bashed, fired, disowned, etc. On the bright side, at least this guy felt comfortable embracing his femeninity rather than trying to hide it.
so to embrace his femininity it required him to run as prom Queen.
Yeah... in the real world he won't survive unless he's raised around and coddled by people like he is who think he's normal.
Pathetic indeed.
He has to wear a tiara to embrace his femininity.
What does a man know about femininity?
He emulates feminine behavior and that makes him feel "like himself".
I'm simply questioning how a boy would even be allowed to run for "prom queen."
I'm questioning, "Who cares?"
Seriously. Who cares?
