Oh I'd just get me a big ole bucket of popcorn and watch the carnage unfurl.

It will all be fine and dandy when it's only Christians, but wait til the other religions show up.

I would not say a word, but I'd read................and laugh............and read....................and laugh, lol.

I'm at a crossroads on the subject of religion. I don't participate in the discussion, but like to sit back and read all the posts on the subject because it interests me.

In other words, I'm getting a lot out of some of those threads. I think there have been great posts from both sides.

I more than suspect you are right. I already saw a few hairs on end when someone mentioned Mormons. Then there is the issue of Islam, and who knows what will be revealed if Gizmo opens a thread on the Jewish faith--I've already seen some rather blatant anti-semitic remarks from several of the Christians and possibly non-Christians. Of course these posters may hang their head in shame if they realized how often they make unwitting, or perhaps witting slurs on (other) religions.

Time will tell, but I won't! - and perhaps I'll learn from you how to laugh more often!

Yap City, Man what did some MEAN CHRISTIAN do to YOU!!!! I really don't understand not going to these debates if your not interested. I stopped going to the immigration forum you just can't make since of MOST of it and the debates are always the same!!
I find some of these interesting and others religious debates are just the same. I have to say Hoosier comes up with some good topics and I just choose the ones I want to participate in and others I skip. You could do the same.

What makes you think Christians will go to the other religious threads and try to convert maybe, go and ask questions. Actually I'm glad they have an atheist thread I will check it out now we can ask silly questions and what proof you have for your way of believing and HOW do you know this and that. Kind of the same silly questions we get!!

What better way to learn about other religions then to ask respectful questions and try to learn others ways even if we don't agree. I don't see anyone here trying to convert anyone to Christianity but hey if one of us can help one of you we would be happy to tell you about Jesus!!

Maybe some could learn from ontheroad !!

Instead, a few of you chose to ignore my warnings, and kept on putting up one thread after another about belief, the bible, religion, etc.

Now here we are, only a couple of days later, and the anti-theist threads are showing up.

I've seen this cycle before, why must we go through it every month or two in P&OC? If you really want to discuss religion, can't you just quote scripture to one another back and forth through PM's? I mean, it's no secret who the believers, and non-believers are.

Why do we have to have this argument all the time? It's so tiring, and so silly. You can't make an atheist believe any more than you can make a born-again burn his bible.

That's just the way it is folks.

What do ya say? Can we put a moratorium on religious content in here?

You post this, however, it seems you are the one that is aggravating the situation here. Why don't you just let people be? As said before, if you don't like the religious postings DON'T read them. You're making yourself sound like you think you're some kind of "self righteous" person, that "warned" everyone. I really do not think that WARNING Christians OR BASHING Christians is acceptable or admirable! Why can't you just let people BE?!
Besides, maybe this will give you some insight...maybe you'r being counterproductive in your agenda:
Matthew 5
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

You see, by being mean and negative to US Christians, you are only helping our cause
Do we really think we are better than you? I will be as honest as possible here. There are SOME christians that tend to be very judgemental, critical and portay the "I'm better than you attidtude". However, don't you worry, God will judge these people, it is not up to you. And if you really do not believe in god, then I'm sure you must at least believe in karma. So if God doesn't gettem then karma will!
Some people tend to take their beliefs too extreme and run with them...rubbing people the WRONG way! A lot of Christians (and NON-Christians as well) have absolutley NO idea how to deal with people. ou cannot deal with everyone the same way. However, the more pushy you are the more defensive everyone becomes. This goes both ways. Right now you're putting Christians on the defensive...why can't you just let it be?!

lollololololol (laughing at you, not with you)

You just made my point, thank you.

How about "Don't like abortion? Don't get one."

or

"Don't like gay marriage? Don't marry another guy."

"Don't like porn? Don't buy Hustler"

"You want to pray in school? Nobody is stoppin ya to do it on your own"

"Don't like infidelity? Don't cheat on your spouse then"

"Don't like movies with sexual content? Go watch the PAX network"

"Don't like profanity? Don't use it"

That logic goes both ways my friend. I tell ya what, you first!

It sure is.

So I guess we can talk about sex using profanity and post the occasional porn when we find something particularly good?
