Actor Danny Glover to rally for condemned killer - STLtoday.com (http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/news/stories.nsf/laworder/story/5A18A502F532E420862575CA0075713C?OpenDocument - broken link)

Quote:
Actor Danny Glover will visit St. Louis tonight to rally for clemency for a man on death row for the 1991 murders of two young women at the old Chain of Rocks Bridge.

Reginald Clemons is scheduled to die on June 17 for the murders of Robin and Julie Kerry.

Glover, a self-styled human rights activist, also visited St. Louis in 2006 to rally support for Clemons, one of four men convicted in the murders. One of the killers, Marlin Gray, was executed in 2005. The Missouri Supreme Court reduced Antonio Richardson’s death sentence to life in prison, finding he should have been sentenced by a jury and not a judge. An additional defendant, Daniel Winfrey, 15 at the time of the murders, confessed a role in the crime, pleaded guilty and testified against the others in exchange for a 30-year prison sentence.
The women were raped and thrown off a bridge.

I dunno, reading a wikipedia page on one of them I can see why someone would be fighting against the death penalty.

What can you expect from an ultra Liberal Obama supporter? Somehow, I'm not surprised.

I bet Reginald Clemons is a white guy that was wrongly accused.

Glover was not an Obama supporter. He only voted for him as "the lesser of two evils" and was an Edwards supporter.
