Mugabe Continues to Haunt Zimbabwe's Quest for Aid
At least 170 farmers have been taken to court recently for "illegally" occupying their land in a continuation of a decade-long campaign by Mugabe to reclaim white-owned land despite a regional tribunal's order that it stop.

In recent months, Zimbabwe's pleas have won it more than $1 billion in credit lines from African nations, boosts in humanitarian aid from Western donors and warmer relations with the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, which cut ties with Zimbabwe years ago because of $1.24 billion in unpaid debts.

I agree. Africans have yet to learn that the more they boot out their infrastructure, in this case farmers, the more they will suffer. This has happened in countries all across the continent, and it has led to civil unrest and outright refusual of companies to come in and help establish a civilized, employable society. I say let them wallow in their own misery while the rest of the world sits backs and enjoys the show.

Not just Zimbabwe, several African countries...the longer the West sends them aid, the longer their screwed up governments stay in power...our meddling has also destroyed several African countries. Zimbabwe and South Africa were once fairly well developed, prosperous countries. Now they're basket cases like most of Africa. Because of poorly planned out good intentions.

Sure, they were well-developed and prosperous........if you were white. They were prosperous countries that enriched white settler-colonists who made livings of the backbreaking work of a permanent indigenous underclass, which in turn was repressed by a Gestapoesque police apparatus.

Great countries, Rhodesia/Zimbabwe and South Africa.
