It seems only days ago that he was at Notre Dame telling about his Christian faith, his salvation, original sin, etc. to a Christian student body. In Cairo to Moslem students he quoted 5 times from the "holy" Koran, spoke of Jesus, Moses and Mohammed praying together (as told only in Islam) as if it actually happened. A Christian cannot believe that both the Bible and the Koran are holy. The Koran very clearly denies the divinity of Jesus. When Obama is in India is he going to bathe in the Ganges and offer a blood sacrifice to Shiva? He only seems to tell an audience what they want to hear and plays to the crowd. What does he really believe, if anything? I can't be the only listener that has picked up on this. He's just a huckster selling ginsu knives on the shopping channel. I had hoped for better from him.

Regarding his laudable mention of women's rights and democracy, why didn't he give that same speech the day before in Saudi Arabia? Play to the audience. It's OK to beat and rape your wife in Riyadh but not in Cairo? Oh, that's right, Egypt has no oil! Silly me. This BS is becoming nauseating.

Can you?

He's looking at paper notes in front of him.

He seems tired and distracted...so this isnt a really fired-up speech. They cant all be.

He was trying to indicate that the US does not disrespect Islam. The goal of the speech was to convey that even though the West and the Mideast are different we share a common humanity and we have to respect each other's rights -- "They" have to as well.

He wasnt there to talk about his personal beliefs.

Perhaps because he wasn't giving a speech in Ryadh? Of course I've never heard of any one giving a sneak preview of a major speech, it sort of lessens the impact don't you think?

By the way, I think the Saudi's have cable TV, so it isn't like the speech went unnoticed in the Kingdom, funny how modern technology works.

As for nausea, with this chicken fecal nonsense, you will be feeling nauseous for quite some time.

Let's try to step back from the glow of Obama worship and look at this from the eyes of the world. We have a famous liar as Secretary of State (the war hero from Bosnia), and now Obama says he's a Christian in one sentence and then calls the koran "holy" in the next. Moslems are not ignorant. They see the contradiction in what he said. How can anyone now take what this man says seriously? The world is snickering at us in derision right now and that's not a good thing.

Sorry, the Koran is a holy book.

He wasnt there to talk about his personal beliefs.

Could you please give a link or links to articles or videos that illustrate your claims, "[t]he world is snickering at us in derision right now", and "[Moslems] see the contradiction in what he said"?

Not if you are a Christian. Only the Bible is holy. Not the Koran, or Bhagavadgita, or Tibetan Book of the Dead, or Sai Baba or Rajneeshes writings. The Bible proclaims that Jesus is the Son of God. The Koran denies that Jesus is the Son of God. Both cannot be true. Choose thou. Obama has stated that he is a Christian. His words deny that claim.

Surely you can understand that he is trying to speak to people who DO believe the Koran is a holy book.
