H.R. 1207 Federal Reserve Transparency Act

The Federal Reserve prints our dollars yet does not give us any accountability. Even your congress men and women does not know what the Federal Reserve is up to. They say that the lack of transparency is there to protect the dollar. Yet where are your dollars truley going? President Obama being elected into the White House promised us transparency. So what are we doing about it? Audit the Federal Reserve by the end of 2010.

I'm writing you today as a concerned American to ask you to sponsor H.R. 1207 The Federal Reserve Transparency Act which mandates an audit of the Federal Reserve by the end of 2010. It is a one page bill which can be found here: GovTrack: H.R. 1207: Text of Legislation, Introduced in House.

As of this moment, there are 186 co-sponsors including your fellow colleagues ___________(list a few names by state here)__________. One of President Obama’s very first promises in getting elected to the White House was to provide transparency. The Federal Reserve refuses to give us accountability. The Federal Reserves prints our money and with the current economic crisis, all eyes are fixed on the dollar. Where even the Oracle of Omaha, Warren Buffet himself would warn us of impending inflation in the near future. Albeit the central debate of current economic policies is between providing jobs versus placing this burden of debt on future generations, where the end result came down to voting primarily based on party lines. Regardless of which economic school we base our beliefs on, in the end don't we have a right to know where the money is going to? To be certain that it indeed is going to help the American people? So what are we doing about it?

I believe a good starting measure that is not merely bipartisan but rather transcending partisanship for the common good of the American public would be H.R.1207. We must know where our money is going. We must know that our congress still works for the people. Help the American people by co-sponsoring H.R.1207 and demanding an audit of the Federal Reserve.
