Did these people adverstise on TV? If so, I recall a few commercials that made me think: "Wow...the way they're advertising this could completely confuse people into thinking they are buying real U.S. minted bullion."

It'll work too. People are stupid.

Exactly,
we have enough people that would confuse this token for real money, Sadly enough. Hence why I think they should either make the coin look "less real" or not advertise it the way they did.

The FBI is looking to auction off their seizure, violating the defendants' 4th amendment rights.

Just another reason why I don't accept cash anymore, unless it's pre-1965 quarters or dimes

Not really, the back sides are almost identical - certainly easy enough to fool someone if you gave it them with the back side up.

THAT is the problem.
The people who designed and minted these coins (when the law is VERY CLEAR that such "money" cannot resemble US money too closely) are the ones "too stupid to live". Not only that, but the government warned them REPEATEDLY that they had a problem and they didn't do anything about it.

Now THAT'S STUPID.

You'd think that after a few thousand years of use as money, silver coins would have been grandfathered in as cash lawful money of the United States.

I think the U.S. Constitution might have a comment about this operation.

Cite on warnings from government?

Please post a picture of a liberty dollar and worthless metal US minted coin next to each other to prove your claim they're close to identical.

.
You can use ANYTHING as money. It just can't resemble US money too closely. It's a very reasonable law - with LOTS of leeway for people.

It is very difficult to counterfeit silver.

Silver coin is cash lawful money of the United States.

I DID.

Look back at the 2 pictures in post #6.
One is a US dollar, one is a Liberty Dollar.
What - did you get confused and not realize they were 2 different coins?

That proves my point.
