Living rent-free. Marble floors, master suites, shiny new kitchens.

Luxury condos for homeless: Angry neighbors say vagrants 'living better than we are'

Quote:
When Nik-ki Coles first saw a luxury condo building going up near her Crown Heights home, she took it as a sign the neighborhood had finally turned a corner.

When the building suddenly became a homeless shelter, she took it as a slap in the face.

This is typical Obama type bull.

Put losers in these types of places and put us in their dumps.

It won't last long, losers like these bums will trash in the place within a week or so and it will be condemned. Typical of Obama type followers.

Hey, loser Mayor Nagin will have some used trailers for these people before long if they are even livable when these people are done trashing them.

as much difficulty as NOLA is having getting people out of those FEMA trailers- just imagine how hard it's going to be convincing anyone to move out a place with a marble floor and master suite.

For some reason, The Jefferson's show tune popped into my head.

"I don't begrudge anyone a place to live, but it's a bit much: Marble floors, brand-new kitchen, master suites,"
Should they have put old, used kitchens in a new building?

More information.
The units were suppose to sell for $350,000 but there were no buyers so the developer signed a contract with a social services provider.
Quote:
This spring, Shriki signed a 10-year contract with the Bushwick Economic Development Group to turn the building into a homeless shelter.

**snip**

The city is paying Bushwick Economic Development Corp. $90 a night for each of the apartments, about $2,700 a month - a figure that also covers social services, housing help and job counseling designed to get families back on their feet.
That's $90/night/apartment, not person. Families can stay there.

No, the rain is Bush's fault. It's a result of global warming, you know.

You seemed to have forgotten the last 8 years.

It is now Obama's watch and if anything happens at all, we will make sure you are up to date that Obama had his dirty little fingers in it one way or another.
Just how socialism works ya know!

Obama wants to take from the haves and give to the have nots. Since his mom was a welfare case he has always felt sorry for other welfare cases and wants to be a community organzier all his life, helping others with others money.

I can live with that. And that philosophy also allows us to say without any reservation that 9/11 was Bush's fault.

Thanks for keeping things simple for all of us.
