so am I to understand some posters worry that images will be used for propaganda but yet it is ok to use them for their proaganda? it is one thing to honor our men and women but this is explotation in my book. I would be crushed if I was this young man's reletive and I happened in on this thread, 2 to 3 years later.
I would too but i guess honoring the dead wasn't the actual intent of this thread that point is lost to those who are in favor of it
Read posts number 6 & 7 in this thread. They start it out by saying the war should have never happened, and so on.
I posted #7. While I don't believe in this war, please point out where in this post I state that.

Petty Officer Mike Monsoor was killed in action September 29, 2006. His funeral was held October 12, 2006. His heroism was covered by the media at the time.
Just another thread started to fan the flames of conflict.
The op asked why Petty Offcer Monsoor's death and funeral are not front page news. My answer is because the news is almost three years old.
YOU go off topic on some tangent about Dr. Tiller.
this thread isn't about anything other than this fallen hero. you bring in the dr. tiller and you thoughts on that should have no bearing at all. so are you saying we, this forum would not be "revisiting" this unless it wasn't for the threads questioning the heroics of a dead doctor and his murderer?
The responses on this thread from liberal posters seem to be implying that there is no need for this thread, as it is already been covered in the media. We have the right to revisit any fallen hero that we wish, but it seems to perturb some of the more liberal members on this forum.
BTW, why should my thoughts on "that" (meaning "dr." tiller) have no bearing at all?
As for the last part of your question, you've a double-negative in your paragraph so it's kind of hard to understand what you mean, in addition to the difficult to understand. Please see the following statement (from you).
"this forum would not be "revisiting" this unless it wasn't for the threads questioning the heroics of a dead doctor and his murderer?"
no one who is an american would think that are military that have died for are country are anything but hero's. I do not have to have my emotional strings pulled by a marionette to tell me.
Nobody is trying to pull your "emotional" strings. If you choose to be a marionette, so be it.
you wanna see our hero's remembered? you have a star by your name lets have a sub folder where we can post pictures of our hero's. sounds like a great idea
I would love nothing more. But I cannot create another sticky thread; only two are allowed per forum and there are already two sticky threads on this one.
I realize that posts about fallen heroes upset the liberal left, but you're just going to have to put up with it.
Fallen American heros should be upsetting to every American, not just 'the liberal front'. Stating I have to 'put up with it' as if it's just some meaningless daily occurrence is disgusting.
If you find this offensive I suggest you look away.
All those who wish can visit the thread for the martyr that killed thousands of babies just prior to birth by strangling them, crushing their skulls, cutting off their heads and other body parts.
If you don't like the thread honoring this hero, you don't have to bother yourself with the details.
Unless of course if you find that he murdered babies in the womb. Then, I suppose you might not mind so much.
It's amazing you'd make such a stupid statement.
Speaking of fanning the flames of hatred........
But I guess we all have our days, don't we?? Looks like yours is today.
PO2 (EOD2) (Explosive Ordnance Disposal)
Mike Monsoor, a Navy EOD Technician, was
awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor
posthumously for jumping on a grenade in Iraq,
giving his life to save his fellow Seals.
(Notice: Mike was not a Navy SEAL, he was EOD.
He gave his life to save a group of Navy SEALS.)
During Mike Monsoor's funeral in San Diego ,
as his coffin was being moved from the hearse
to the grave site at Ft. Rosecrans National
Cemetery , SEAL's were lined up on both sides
of the pallbearers route forming a column of two's,
with the coffin moving up the center. As Mike's
coffin passed, each SEAL, having removed his
gold Trident from his uniform, slapped it down
embedding the Trident in the wooden coffin.
The slaps were audible from across the cemetery; by the time the coffin arrived grave side, it looked as though it had a gold inlay from all the Tridents pinned to it.
This was a fitting send-off for a warrior hero...
This should be front-page news instead of the crap we see every day...

We don't know how many pregnant women have been killed in Iraq. But, then, I suppose, you don't mind so much about them.
