In what is now Piedmont Park, Booker T. Washington gave arguably his most famous speech at the Atlanta Exposition discussing the advancement of black Americans. The high school located in SW Atlanta (which Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. graduated from) is named after him.

W. E. B. Dubois was president of Atlanta University (now Clark Atlanta University). He was born shortly after emancipation, lived through the Harlem Renaissance and Jim Crow, and died the year of Dr. King's March on Washington. He was staunchly opposed to Washington's views on black American advancement.

Examining both arguments, who do you think is more correct in terms of the attitude that today's black Americans should take in advancing themselves and other black Americans?

The admin needs to put this in another section. This isn't Atlanta specific.

While the people in question spent time in Atlanta, your question is not specifically Atlanta related. It is a social debate topic and will be moved to a more appropriate forum.
