I have been called selfish for paying for health care and not wishing to have United health care or socialized health (s)care.

Many people rather spend money on beer, or cars, or anything else they want to instead of paying a premium for health ins....I chose to pay for health care instead....

My health care facility can't even fax the facility abroad for the papers since the phone system doesn't allow them to call abroad...which is totally understandable...I will try to get it by faxing their letter through my fax since in Europe they don't give the doctors papers to a patient, only to a doctor!

That is how governments run the health care...cheap and by control. They choose which doctor you can see and without permission of your family physician you can't go and see a specialist....once denied, too bad...you can try again but the power is with the physician.
For all you disbelievers...wait and see your self. wait what you wish for and how much it is going to cost you by paying higher taxes!

LIberals only see this as another entitlement program that the believe will empower them. These folks have never been credited with being far-sighted enough to understand that government is not the solution. They do this by simply ignoring that our government has fallen flat on its face everytime it attempts to create an entitlement program. UHC will be no different, but you can't explain that to those that see being a citizen as one big feast off of taxpayer handouts. It's engrained in their mentality.

Many people have to make the choice between buying food and spending for healthcare. Not everyone chooses between spending on non essentials and health care.

But kind of klutzy and inefficient....JMO.

(you'll still be able to keep your same health care program if you want to, btw. I realize you've been told differently, in the flickering shadows of the TV

the public ins would force private insurers to become competitive.)

Umm...You can keep your same doctor, and we're in the process of setting up national digital databases so patients don't have to carry around paper records (which are fairly easy to get, we just ask for them).

higher taxes...lol...blah, blah, blah....like your party understands how to manage taxes.....

You need to complain about something more compelling. As I stated on your other thread 1 out of 6 dollars is spent on health related issues and climbing. It appears you are having issues with obtaining xrays also? Do you have group or independent insurance? How much is your monthly premiums? How old are you? Is your insurance an HMO? Do you have a pre-existing condition? How much are your co-pays? How stable is your employment? Are you compelled to bridge the gap using COBRA insurance? It all depends on what box we are in. Negative responses to the questions I've posted can make a conservative think twice about the health of the American healthcare system if they are in a small box or a tight spot like bankruptcy.

What you do with your money is your premise, and nothing should make you feel guilty about it. It is prudent, however, that you should consider yourself lucky for having a health insurance. Not many are, in this country.
